[Reddit Gaming Hot Post] How a caching plugin saved my client’s WooCommerce site from a Black Friday crash

one of my WooCommerce clients had their dream nightmare: tons of traffic, but the site completely collapsed under the load. Within minutes of the sale going live, their boutique store slowed to a crawl and then started throwing 503 errors.

They were losing thousands in sales every minute.

The cause? No proper caching. Every visitor was forcing the server to build each page from scratch — and it simply couldn’t keep up.

My emergency fix: I installed and configured WP Rocket. Within minutes:

  • Page Caching → static versions of pages served instantly
  • GZIP Compression → files zipped, faster to download
  • Database Optimization → backend cleaned and lighter

Result: the site came back online almost instantly and stayed stable throughout the Black Friday rush. They salvaged the sale and actually had one of their best days ever.

Takeaway: Don’t wait until your site crashes to think about caching. For e-commerce especially, it’s essential infrastructure.
